Welcome 2025 Sharks!

Hello, Sharks!

 

We are rapidly approaching the start of the 2025 Shark Season and I am excited! We have had a lot of parents doing tons of work behind the scenes to make this one of the best Shark seasons yet! If you have not registered your swimmer yet, we ask that you please do so as soon as possible at www.bacsharks.com– this will help determine coaching staff, apparel, and other team logistics.

 

All our staff from last summer will be returning so we are going to have familiar faces on deck. Along with those familiar faces, we are going to have new sharks in all age groups! So when you see someone new, give them a big Shark welcome!

 

As a reminder, our season begins May 12^th. Keep those fingers crossed for great weather. The first few weeks of season can be hectic as many of our Sharks are involved in other sports and activities. Please do your best to make an appearance at practices when you can during the May time frame. If you are a returning swimmer, please make sure your first practice is in the group you were in last year. This will help coaches with group placements.

 

For those who are new, we have five groups: Pre team, Fins, Tigersharks, Hammerheads, and Jaws. Unlike other teams, our groups are based on both age and ability. Our approach is to give every swimmer the best opportunity to be successful while taking into consideration their development as a swimmer along with their social and emotional growth amongst their peers. Our website (www.bacsharks.com) provides all of the group requirements. Groups are fluid and can change as swimmers develop, improve, and age up so starting a season in one group does not lock a swimmer into that group for the entire summer.

 

The role of the coaching staff is to provide a great experience, develop swimmers, and build a team atmosphere. Coach Bill and I have over 70 years of coaching experience between us and have worked with learn to swim through Olympic medalists so we have seen it all.
