We were lucky to have great weather for both of our mini meets this week! Our 8 & Unders showed up strong at the OLCC Mini Meet — over 30 swimmers in action and so many impressive swims! Meanwhile, over in Gator Country, our Sharks delivered some lightning-fast relays and brought the energy.

As we head into the final stretch of the season, please take a few moments to review this week’s key updates. There’s a lot happening — from meets and celebrations to volunteer opportunities — and we want to make sure you’re in the loop!

Coach’s Corner

Hello, Sharks!

It’s been a FAST two months, and we are beginning our last week of the regular season. As we begin to wind down, there is one last thing I want to touch on that leads to success.

“If you want to be the best, you have to do things that other people aren’t willing to do.” – Michael Phelps

That’s from the GOAT. Excellence really is that simple. You would be surprised at what other people aren’t willing to do. Things like:

            Showing up to every practice

Giving a 10/10 effort in every set

Do the little things, or fundamentals, correctly

Fueling up before practice and recovering afterwards

Putting devices down before bed to help sleep better

Everyone you will race against goes to practice.  They do the workouts. They want to improve. But are they willing to do the things listed above?

To be elite, it starts and ends with making the most of every opportunity given to you. Show up. Give your best effort. Be a great teammate. Be a SHARK!

Coach Paul

🎥 End-of-Season Slideshow (7/22 & 7/27)

🛟7/15 Floats & Floats Party 5:00-8p

Bring your own Float and Family and have fun making a splash in the pool while enjoying dinner and Ice Cream Floats on the terrace. Remember it takes time to inflate your float so plan accordingly.  See you at the club for this Fun Family Night!

🍝 TEAM BANQUET UPDATE

Based on your feedback, we’ve made a change to how we celebrate our swimmers. This year, we’re combining the team banquet with our beloved “Plates, Plaques & Pasta” night on 7/22 at 4:30 PM to ensure greater participation and team-wide recognition.

Please note we moved the time back an hour (4:30p start) due to our Finals team practice schedule.

  • All swimmers will receive their award plaques and paper plate awards at this event.
  • Special honors (Brutally Aggressive, Most Improved, Coach’s Award, etc.) will be announced during the End-of-Season Party on 7/27 5:30p.

 🏆 MICSA FINALS – July 25–27

Be sure to visit the MICSA Finals website for all the latest info—general details, ticket sales, and sponsorship opportunities are all there! 🎟️

The finals team will be announced on July 20. On Sunday, we will send the Finals Team a packet with important information for the week. Whether or not your swimmer swims at finals, we encourage all BAC families to join us at the End-of-Season Party on July 27 at 5:30p. It’s a celebration for the entire team!

FINALS TECH SUITS – IMPORTANT INFO

As we gear up for Finals, we encourage all swimmers to wear a tech suit if possible. These suits are designed to enhance performance by reducing drag in the water.

If you choose not to purchase a tech suit, a good alternative is a tighter-fitting suit, ideally 1–2 sizes smaller than your swimmer’s regular practice suit. It should fit snugly (even a bit uncomfortably) and may take a few minutes to put on — that’s normal!

Note for 12 & Unders: All tech suits must be approved by Coach Paul before Finals. Please bring your suit to him for review.

Need a Suit or Have One to Share?

If your swimmer has outgrown their tech suit, or if you have a gently used one to pass down, we encourage families to donate or swap suits.
📦 Bring any tech suits you’d like to donate/swap to the first Monday practice of Finals week
