Week Six- Red Run & A Look Ahead

June 30, 2024

Hi Shark Families,

WHAT A WEEK.

Thank you to all who helped at our Lochmoor meet on Tuesday.

On Thursday, many of our Sharks battled it out and had some great swims against Great Oaks.

On Friday, over 25 of our 12 and under Sharks returned right back to Great Oaks to do it it again at their Annual Splash Bash Mini Meet.

AND on Friday night we had our small but VERY mighty group of 11-12 year olds represent BAC at Plum Hollow’s Firecracker Meet. These 11-12 year olds were recognized amongst the Plum Hollow pool for their endless support and sportsmanship. We are so proud of you Sharks. Speaking of, BIG shout out to our swimmers and families who participated in ALL FOUR meets this week: Alaina and Mia Chaudhary, Declan Dresden, Elizabeth Murray and the Giudicis.

Thank you to all who came right back on Saturday to participate in our first BAC Olympics to raise money for MICSA’s Corsan Challenge. More info and photos below. Boy, does Henry Willis have a mean paper airplane toss.

With 3/6 dual meets down and the holiday, we’re about the turn the corner for the final stretch of BAC Sharks 2024. There is still a lot of fun and great swims to be had.

COACHES’ CORNER – Coach Paul

Good vs Great

We all want to perform our best.  When you’re having a good day, you know you’re going to kick butt. You can feel it. But what if we aren’t having a good day? Do we just throw that practice out? Do we quit and just go through the motions? No.

The difference between good swimmers and great swimmers is when a great swimmer is having a bad day, they don’t let it affect their mental or physical state.  They may be slower in practice or in competition, but they always hold themselves accountable. Consistency is the name of the game.

We all have dips and lows throughout a season. School, family, poor sleep, big exams. But if you can be accountable to your goals, be consistent with your mindset, and make those bad days a little better, you’ll start to turn the corner from being good to being great.

GO SHARKS!

Coach Paul

Best,

Alyson & Katie
