Week Seven- GPYC, DGC, & 8 & Under Meet

July 7, 2024

Hi Shark Families,

We hope you enjoyed your holiday week. Good job to all of your Sharks who swam at Red Run on Tuesday. It’s hard to believe yesterday kicked off the last two weeks of regular season. It’s a busy week ahead. How appropriate that SHARK WEEK started today on the Discovery Channel. Tune in if you haven’t had enough Shark this summer already.

2024 SHARK PHOTOS –  WE WANT TO SEE YOUR FAVORITE SHARK PICS
Let’s collect and connect our Shark Swim Team memories for the 2024 season! Katy Murray is collecting pictures from whomever wants to contribute and she will be putting an end of the season slideshow together for our banquet. You can contact her regarding this at BACsharkphotos@gmail.com. But to get photos to her please upload them to a file in the Google Drive she has created. The link is below.
For the photos you have selected to upload, please choose the favorites you have taken of the season, not all the photos you have taken. Please remember that any of these photos can be placed in the slideshow so select appropriate pictures. Katy will do her best to use photos that capture as many of the swimmers as possible but obviously will be unable to do so.
Thank you for taking your time to help contribute to the slideshow and bring the memories of the season for all to see! You can add photos as often as you want so if you upload what you have so far that would be great to get them in and then can add more if you want later.

COACHES’ CORNER – Coach Paul

With two weeks left in season and most of the work behind us, we have just a few practices left to be at our best. But with our training mostly behind us, we have one last major hurdle to guarantee success at the end of the season: Our confidence. Confidence is something that can be built. Small goals each week. Reflecting on what you can control. Using positive self talk to channel energy. Visualizing success.

Spending just a few minutes per day visualizing races, telling yourself you will be successful, and being proud of what you have accomplished are great ways to build that confidence for race day.

GO SHARKS!

Coach Paul

Best,

Alyson & Katie
